Wizards of the Coast shared some highlights of their upcoming release schedule through the next year. I’ve compiled the list for your easy access. Where possible I’ve provided a link to the Wizards of the Coast product description and a link to Amazon.com. If you want to see what the covers of these upcoming releases look like, click though. Some of the products releasing much later in the year do not have links available at this time. I’ll try to keep this page up to date and add the links in as I see that they’ve become available. So bookmark this page and keep coming back throughout the next year to find out what Wizards is releasing next.
August 2009
-
Adventurer’s Vault 2 (Aug 18)
-
Dragon Magazine Annual 2009 (Aug 18)
This book gets it’s wide release today, but was available for sale at GenCon. I looked through it and decided that I didn’t need to own the AV2 as long as I had access to the Character Builder. The cover of the AV 2 by Wayne Reynolds is an homage to a picture from the back of the AD&D Monster Manual by David Trampier. I’ve presented the covers side-by-side for those who may not have easy access to the original Monster Manual.
If you’ve got a subscription to DDI then all of this content is currently available in PDF format. I will admit that the presentation of the hardbound edition is nice, but without any new materials I’m going to pass on this book too.

September 2009
-
Novel: Word of Traitors (Sep 1)
-
Novel: City of Torment (Sep 1)
-
Dungeon Masters Guide 2 (Sep 15)
-
Revenge of the Giants (Sep 15)
This will have a lot more emphasis on story telling, skill challenges and paragon-level play. What I was most excited to hear was that this book will give us a 4e introduction of the City of Sigil (which will make PlaneScape fans extremely happy). It’s 224 pages.
Wizards | Amazon
This is the super adventure inspired by the series of fan-favourite adventures from the 80s. It’s 160 pages. It’s supposed to contain monster markers for every creature encountered during the adventure. It covers levels 12-18, not 12-17 as previously announced.

The next in this ongoing series and very much like Martial Power, Arcane Power and Divine Power. It’s 160 pages.
Wizards | Amazon
This adventure is for PC level 27-30 and culminates when they do direct battle with Orcus himself. The cover features a very cool image of the Prince of the Undead himself. (Wizards has the wrong cover art on there product description. Amazon has the correct cover.)

If you have the first Draconomicon then you know exactly the kind of thing to expect with this release. We were told during the seminar that not all metallic dragons are good any more. That’s not to say that they’re evil, but don’t expect them to be good right off the bat. It’s 288 pages.

Did you really think that one Martial Powers book was going to be enough? Expect Arcane Power 2, Divine Power 2 and so on.

March 2010

Player’s Handbook 3
There’s already been a lot of hype about the new PHB3. As we already know about 1/3 to 1/2 of the content from the PHB3 will be made available through DDI in the months preceding it’s release. Will this help or hurt sales of the book? Will it encourage more people to subscribe to DDI? We’ll find out soon enough.

Hammerfast has already been introduced as a point of light setting but this supplement will really flesh it out. Check out his summary of the few facts we already know over at Obsidian Portal.

I do like how WOTC are bringing some of the classic adventures back and also the Dark Sun setting. That one in particular piques my interest.

Any update on the Adventure Tools or other map tool related releases?
@The Recusion King
I'd really like to see Wizards "reimagine" the Slave Lord Series. My money's on this as their next super adventure.
@skallawag
I wasn't able to stick around for the Q&A, but there was nothing mentioned about the Adventure Tools or any of the other map tools during the seminar.
