Month in Review: September 2011

September was a great months at Dungeon’s Master. We started the month by hitting the very significant milestone of 1,000,000 Page Views. During September we welcomed two new contributors, we brought you weekly write-ups of D&D Encounters and shared our first attempt at Lair Assault: Forge of the Dawn Titan, and we also shared 100 Beta codes to the new Facebook game Heroes of Neverwinter. The month in review is your chance to get caught up if you missed any of the articles we ran in September.

Month in Review: July 2011

July was another great month for us here at Dungeon’s Master. In July we began our poll to find the best feats in 4e D&D and thanks to your voting we’re half way there. Our articles on two-hit minions, revamping the skill training system, and reasons to say no to your players all received a lot of comments and sparked lively debate. On the last day of July we posted a preview of the upcoming D&D Game Day which is already proving to be a very popular topic (although I’m sure the scans of the 13 character themes from the upcoming Neverwinter Campaign Setting are at least partly responsible for the traffic spike).

We’d like to thank everyone for visiting us in July and we hope you’ve enjoyed what you read enough to keep coming back throughout August. Month in Review: June 2011

June was another great month for Dungeon’s Master as our web stats and readership numbers continue to climb thanks to you, our loyal readers. This month we hosted our first RPG Blog Carnival, and although it started slowly, we saw a lot of enthusiasm and support as the month neared completion. Our own entry nearly set a record for most visits on a single day.

In June our articles on D&D math, social issues in D&D, opportunity attacks, PCs charging PCs for services, and ways to increase role-playing all created great debate in our comments section. We also continued covering D&D Encounters and we added a video component after completing chapter 1 (which you might have seen on the Wizards of the Coast Facebook page).

Thanks to everyone who visited Dungeon’s Master throughout June. We hope you enjoyed reading the articles as much as we enjoyed writing them. Whether you only just discovered us (perhaps because of the RPG Blog Carnival) or whether you’re a long time reader, this is your chance to read (or reread) all of the articles we ran in June.

Month in Review: May 2011

May was another great month for us here at Dungeon’s Master. We continued our exploration of racial powers, shared our weekly experiences with D&D Encounters and took a detailed look at divine classes. We also covered monster variety, DM rehearsals, controller powers and a look back at fantasy movies from the 80s. We began April with an obligatory April Fools article, but after a humourous look at magic items we were all business through the rest of the month. We took a long hard look at building monsters in our four-part series, began a new ongoing series exploring ways to truly optimize racial powers, continued our ongoing weekly coverage of D&D Encounters: March of the Phantom Brigade and provided an early peek at season 5, D&D Encounters: Dark Legacy of Evard. April was packed with a lot of great 4e D&D articles so if you missed anything this is your chance to get caught up.

Month in Review: March 2011

A controversial stance on the Avenger class, an in-depth look at the Warforged, as well as our unique take on divination, summoning, and trust issues in D&D all contributed to our best month yet here at Dungeon’s Master. These were just a few of the many topics we covered throughout March.

Although we generally run our Month in Review on the 1st, we decided to wait given that Friday was April Fool’s Day. Hopefully you enjoyed our April Fools Day article, Magical Items That Aren’t Magical. Now it’s on to the Month in Review where we recap all of the great articles we ran over the past month and give you a chance to get caught up on anything you might have missed.

Month in Review: February 2011

In February we celebrated our second anniversary. For the specifics on how we’re doing be sure to check out the State Of The Dungeon – Year 2. As we move into our third great year here at Dungeon’s Master we continue bringing you exciting 4e D&D articles every day.

Our weekly coverage of D&D Encounters continues as we see the program move from season three to season four. In February we provided more articles for DMs and players, with a special focus on role-playing. We also revisited Eberron in February, and looking at skill challenges we came up with a way to make them even more exciting. If you missed any of our great articles from February this is your chance to get caught up.

We began January with what turned turned out to be one of our most inflammatory articles to date. It created a lot of comments (the most we’ve ever received on any article) and polarized the online gaming community. We also covered a wide variety of other topics in January including the latest DM app for your iPad, action points, henchmen, conflict resolution strategies,adventure hooks, skill challenges, LFR and D&D Encounters (season 3 and season 4).

Month in Review: December 2010

During the first half of December we brought you new 4e D&D articles every day. During the second half of December the Dungeon’s Master team took some time off for the holidays and during that time we ran our 2010 greatest hits. With a mixture of new and old articles, readers visiting Dungeon’s Master in December were treated to a lot of great 4e D&D.

On or around the first of each month we collect everything we’ve published in the previous month and make it easily available for all of our readers. Month in Review: November 2010

November was great month here at Dungeon’s Master. The D&D community was abuzz with the release of the new character builder and we couldn’t help but join in on the discussion and debate. Also in November we looked at the art that shaped the D&D worlds of Dark Sun, Planescape and Eberron, we looked at alignment in 4e D&D and we asked you to stop abusing dragons. There were the familiar staples throughout November including D&D Encounters weekly coverage, more Secrets of Eberron, and a detailed look at skill checks and the new skill DCs from D&D Essentials.

With our neighbours to the south celebrating their Thanksgiving last week, we would be remiss if we didn’t take this opportunity to thank all of our readers for visiting Dungeons’ Master, especially those of you who keep coming back again and again.
